Cyren in partner recruitment mode
Security actor Cyren is expanding its channel base to support its ambitions to develop its reputation in the commercial market.
The email protection specialist has seen demand for protection tools and services explode during the coronavirus pandemic and this development has coincided with the recognition that he can do more with his partners.
Matt Halsey, senior director of sales, EMEA and APAC at Cyren, said the company has been the driving force behind many OEM offerings, but is now stepping out of the shadows to promote its technology in its own right.
“The channel is getting bigger and bigger and will become bigger over time and this IT security or cybersecurity market isn’t shrinking anytime soon,” he said. “So I think the channel and the ability of vendors to work with the channel is increasingly important, and some of the tactics we take to make ourselves attractive to the reseller market are just as important. “
As a result, the company has been in recruiting mode, looking for partners who could exploit the growing demand for hosted email protection, especially Microsoft Office 365.
“We currently have around 20 registered partners in the UK, ranging from an individual group to some of the larger corporate resellers,” said Halsey. “We’re in that kind of next phase where we help them identify customers. I believe we can’t just have a good product – we have to be able to work easily with the chain, so it’s clear how you deal with it and the margin they make.
Cyren profiles users to share details with the channel on the whereabouts of prospects with the email protection journey, then alerts resellers on the best way to approach those users.
“Over the past eight months, we’ve made a big effort in terms of partner recruitment and partner knowledge, and we’ve run a number of webinars to educate them on this detection and response. [approach]Said Halsey.
“We are able to educate these customers and partners and when they finally turn on the light, we are there to help them support them. “
Earlier this month, Cyren signed player MSP Fluid Networks as part of this channel expansion effort.
Halsey said cybercriminals keep the pressure on the IT security market and customers, with high-profile ransomware attacks making headlines almost daily.
He said the email protection world was still too focused on detection and that while this was important, they needed to be proactive in identifying threats before they reached email inboxes. mails and do not cause problems.
“The faster you can do it, the faster you reduce the risk of being compromised,” he added. “Reducing what we call an ‘average time to remediation’ is where we’re really going.
