Domestic violence services for victims
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WKRN) – News 2 has deepened its research to highlight ways in which women can protect themselves from potential abusers in our special Stalkers and Creeps reports.
Damien Talley with the Y women spoke to News 2 by phone earlier today to explain how people can protect themselves from domestic violence.
“One of the general statistics that we recognize is that there is a general correlation between domestic violence and stalking. And that correlation is that stalking usually leads to future violence that can lead to death, ”Talley said.
Talley said there has been an effort to raise awareness that stalking is a form of domestic violence.
“Harassment from an intimate partner generally has two main elements that we deem to be a pattern of harassment as opposed to a unique act and fear,” Talley continued, “If you recognize that your partner current or former intimate partner or spouse cell phone, read your email, follow you, spy on you, and this activity is unwanted and scares you, then you are harassed.
