Obituary: Bob Louthan | VailDaily.com
October 19, 1939 – October 9, 2021
“Work hard, play hard” – the words Bob Louthan lived. He died on October 9, 2021, at the age of 81, with his family by his side. He graduated from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, then went to the University of Colorado where he met Ann, the love of his life. He also attended UCLA where he earned a master’s degree in computer science.
Bob has had a very successful career in the computer industry which has brought multiple experiences and the opportunity to live in many places in the United States. But his favorite place on earth was Vail, where he and Ann had owned a residence since 1975 and had lived full time since 1998. Bob certainly enjoyed various career challenges, but his favorite activities were hiking and skiing. Two hobbies he shared with his family and friends. Countless families and friends have skied hundreds of days and hiked hundreds of miles with Bob. He really enjoyed being outdoors and sharing nature with others.
Bob is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Bobbi Kay (Rob Kay) and grandsons, Max Kay and Sam Kay.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Horan & McConaty – 7577 W 80th Ave, Arvada CO. Lunch will follow. Please only attend if you are vaccinated. We are also planning a ski barbecue, ski down and après ski this winter in Vail.
Only if desired, in lieu of flowers, can donations in Bob’s name be made to the Colorado Snowsports Museum in Vail or the Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon.
