Obituary: Henry “Hank” Léon Manseau
SCARBOROUGH – Henry “Hank” Leon Manseau, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on September 15, 2021. Henry was born to Anna (Malo) and C. Henry Manseau in Gardner, Mass.
Henry is survived by his children Gerry, Chris, Cathy and Tom; her grandchildren Katlyn, Megan, Michael, Niki and Ben; and her great-granddaughter, Jordyn.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dottie; son, Sean; granddaughter, Lindsay; and the sisters Jeannette and Olive.
Henry received a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and pursued a long career as a field engineer in the computer industry, working on custom technology solutions. He was an instructor in the Army Reserves and volunteered as a Boy Scout and District Council member for many years.
Henry’s love for the kite has repeatedly earned him the cover of the Portland Press Herald and earned him the nickname Hardware Hank. If you’ve ever seen huge kites fly at Bug Light in South Portland, you’ve probably seen it play. He loved meeting new people and was a lifelong learner.
Henry had been a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe since 2001. He was cantor, soloist, choir and member of the parish council. Since he was an altar boy, his love of music was clear; he believed that music was an integral part of worship.
A Christian Burial Mass for Henry will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church at 150 Black Point Rd., Scarborough on October 2 at 10 am. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required and there will be no rally after the service. The family will have a quick word with the people when they leave the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Conroy Tully Walker Funeral Home in South Portland. To view the live broadcast of the Mass, please visit https://www.facebook.com/ConroyTullyWalker
