Queensland Market Welcomes First CEO, Chief Marketing Officer
Queensland retail market and payment provider Gimmie has recruited a new CEO and its first head of marketing as it enters the Australian market.
The startup has appointed Cameron Murray, former COO and head of marketing and sales for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, as CEO. He boasts over 25 years of experience in sports and entertainment, global media consulting, television and government.
At his side, Brendon Harrington, Marketing Manager. Harrington joined LIDA, M&C Saatchi’s customer experience agency, and has worked in advertising and CX for the past 20 years including BCM, CX Lavender and Whybin TBWA.
Gimmie aims to revolutionize both the buy-to-buy rental industry as well as the growing buy-now, pay-later industry. At the heart of its offer is a market providing access to a multitude of products such as televisions, furniture, household appliances, technological equipment and household appliances. These are available with the option of GimmiePay, an older buy now, pay later financing model.
Buyers can either pay the price in cash within 90 days or pay in scheduled installments over one or two years for a higher price and will incur a late fee of $ 10 if they miss a payment. The target customers are students, young couples and families.
Murray said he was excited to join Gimmie at this point in the company’s growth and development.
