The group, led by Dr. Purnendu Chatterjee, has committed all necessary resources to achieve the global research aspirations of the proposed university. As a first in this direction, the group has already set up a research center that can be translated into fundamental sciences. The proposed university will be unique in its concept as it will also be fully focused on basic translational research.

The university has already resumed its path as a research center called TCG CREST with doctoral students working in advanced technologies. He works in the areas of Quantum computing, neuroscience, cryptology, data-driven intelligence and sustainable energy. The research is led by world-renowned scientists who have joined the initiative from institutions and universities like UC Berkeley, known for their leadership in global research efforts. They are all working on ideas that can be translated into the industry.
